Ten tips for healthy eating and active living:
- Need a quick snack? Go nuts! Eat a small handful of cashews, peanuts, walnuts or almonds. Nuts are a great source of protein and healthy fat!

- Eat more fish and skinless poultry. Select few red meats. Buy lean cuts and trim fat.
- Give you kitchen a makeover! Stock you refrigerator and shelves with more fruits, vegetables and whole grain products and less meat and fatty, high calorie snacks.
- Pay attention to what you eat. Chew slowly and savour every bite rather than eating mindlessly.
- Want to prevent overeating? Fill up on vegetables, which have few calories and important nutrients.
- Grocery shopping? What you bring home, you will eat. So bring home only the best food.
- Plan to be active. Think ahead for travel, work, family and other time conflicts.
- Do you have stairs in your house? Use them for quick workout by going up and down a few times in a row.
- Whenever you are walking somewhere, take a long way around.
- Keep a pair of walking or running shoes in you vehicle or at work so you are ready for activity wherever you are.
